این مطالعه ارزیابی ایمنی و درمانی در درمان سرپایی اندوواسکولار در بیماران مبتلا به مولتیپل اسکلروزیس (MS) و نارسایی مزمن مغزی وریدی (CCSVI) را بررسی می کند.


دویست و پنجاه و نه بیمار مبتلا به MS با مقیاس تاثیر بیماری ام اس (MSIS-29) قبل و برای 1 و 6 ماه پس از درمان خارج سازی ورید ژوگولار داخلی و رگهای گرفته منفرد و انسداد با استفاده از آنژیوپلاستی وریدی، و همچنین قرار دادن استنت در 2.5٪ از بیماران مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند. قبل از درمان، بیماران با ونوگرافی رزونانس مغناطیسی (MR) و جریان کم مورد آزمایش قرار گرفتند.


بهبود آماری قابل توجهی درنمرات 29 - MSIS در هر دو دوره 1 و 6 ماه حاصل شد (P <0.01). در 1 ماه و 6 ماه، به ترتیب 67.9٪ و 53.6٪ در مقیاس فیزیکی بهبود یافته بودند، ، و 53.0٪ و 44.4٪ در مقیاس روانی بهبود یافته شد. زنان بهبود بیشتری نسبت به مردان در مقیاس فیزیکی در 6 ماه (P = 0.01) را نشان دادند. بیماران مبتلا به MS پیشرونده اولیه (PPMS) بهبود کمتری را از کسانی که با ام اس عود و فروکش کننده بودند (RRMS) نشان دادند. پانزده نفر (6.3٪) عود علایم پس از بهبود بالینی را داشتند و دوباره تحت درمان قرار گرفتند. یکی از عوارض جانبی جدی، لخته شدن خون داخل وریدی عمقی که با درمان حل می شود.
