زانوی پای راست را از زمین بلند کنید تا ساق پا عمود بر زمین و کف پا در طرف زانوی پای چپ روی زمین قرار گیرد.
سطح بالای ارنج دست راست را روی زانوی پای راست بگذارید و چانه را در کف دست راست وانهاده کنید.
چشم ها را ببندید و استراحت کنید.
ستون فقرات و سر را راست نگه دارید و در حفظ بی حرکتی کامل بدن کوشش نمایید. سپس مدتی در حالت توقف کنید.
تمرین را با قرار دادن کف پای چپ در کنار زانوی پای راست و عمود کردن ساق پا ادامه دهید.

تنفس : عمیق و ملایم.

آگاهی : فیزیکی _ روی تنفس و حفظ سر و ستون فقرات که ثابت و استوار است.

زمان : برای حداقل دو دقیقه تمرین را با هر طرف بدن ادامه دهید و به تدریج مدت توقف در حالت را اضافه کنید تا موفق شوید بیش از نیم ساعت روی هر طرف از پاها توقف کنید و بدن را بدون حرکت نگه دارید.

فایده : این وضعیت در تعادل ذهن اثر بسزایی دارد. قدرت تمرکز را افزایش می دهد و سبب می شود که شما به اقلیم ناخوداگاه خود قدم بگذارید و از آرامش واقعی فیزیکی و روانی بهرمند گردید.
در این حالت جریان فکر خیلی روشن و قابل درک می شود. این وضعیت را بیشتر کسانی که افکار متلاطم دارند یا قدرت کنترل افکار خود را ندارند مورد استفاده فرار می دهند.برای بر طرف کردن سموم و تنش ها یا تقویت جگر ، کلیه ها و دستگاه گوارش تمرین بسیار مفیدی است.

توجه : بعضی این تمرین را " وضعیت فیلسوف" نامیده اند زیرا که تمرکز فکر ایجاد می کند.
