شیوه درمانی جدید با استفاده از سلول‌های بنیادی مانع پیشرفت بیماری ام‌اس می‌شود
به گزارش روز سه شنبه گروه اخبار علمی ایرنا از پایگاه خبری تلگراف، در این شیوه جدید از شیمی‌درمانی به‌منظور بازنشانی سیستم ایمنی بدن استفاده می‌شود. محققان در این تحقیقات نشان دادند که می‌توانند بیماری ام‌اس را تا مدت پنج سال به حالت انجماد درآورند و مانع پیشرفت آن در بدن بیمار شوند.
برای این منظور ابتدا دارویی به بیمار داده می‌شود تا سلول‌های بنیادی مغز استخوان او را تحریک کند که وارد جریان خون شوند. سپس این سلول‌ها از خون بیمار استخراج می‌شوند و با استفاده از مقادیر بالای داروهای شیمیایی، تمام سلول‌های سیستم ایمنی بدن بیمار کشته می‌شوند. پس از آن سلول‌های بنیادی خود بیمار مجددا به بدن او پیوند می‌شوند تا سیستم ایمنی بدن بازنشانی شود.
متخصصان پیش از این نیز به منظور درمان بیماری‌هایی مانند سرطان که مقابله با آن‌ها با استفاده از سایر روش‌های درمانی امکانپذیر نیست، از پیوند اتولوگ سلول‌های بنیادی خون‌ساز استفاده می‌کردند؛ اما تاکنون از مدت زمان باقی ماندن آثار و مزایای این روش درمان بی اطلاع بودند.
این روش درمانی در 73 درصد از بیماران مبتلا به ام اس عودکننده به مدت پنج سال مانع بروز مجدد علایم این بیماری شده است. همچنین در 33 درصد از بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس پیش‌رونده، مانع وخیم تر شدن علائم بیماری شده است.
