در سیل مطالب زیادی که از بیماری ام اس میشنویم یا میخوانیم بعضا به مطالب غیرواقع یا متناقض برمیخوریم که باعث سرگردانی و گمراهی می شود.
ولی در این بین یک سری نکات اساسی وجود دارد که صحت آن از لحاظ تجربی ثابت شده است که به اختصار اشاره میشود.
چه افرادی مبتلا میشوند
ام اس یک بیماری چندوجهی میباشد و افرادی که از نظر ژنتیکی،روحی و جسمی خصوصیات خاصی داشته باشند مستعد این بیماری هستند. اغلب مبتلایان افراد سردمزاج روحی و از نظر جسمی طبع سرد پسند دارند و متمایل به خوراک ها و نوشیدنی های با اسیدیته بالا هستند. از نظر فکری و روحی بسیار متفکرو به نوعی خودرنج و حساس هستند و علاوه بر اینها از نظر ژنتیکی هم باید مستعد این بیماری باشند. این بیماری در نقاط دورتر از خط استوا و مناطق سردسیر و در بین سفیدپوستان و بین زنان و مناطق صنعتی و آلوده بسیار شایع تر است که البته هیچ دلیل قطعی برای هیچ یک از این موارد وجود ندارد.
علت بیماری
خودایمنی به معنای حمله سیستم ایمنی بدن به دستگاه عصبی مرکزی(مغز و نخاع) و تخریب میلین های انتقال دهنده پیام های عصبی هرچند در این بین نظریه های متفاوتی همچون انسداد عروق خونی ناحیه گردن یا افزایش اسیدیته خون در اثر تغذیه نامناسب ویا مسائل دیگری مطرح میشود.
درمان
ام اس مانند سایر ضایعات سیستم عصبی همچون سکته مغزی و میگرن قابل درمان قطعی نمیباشد و داروهای ضد التهاب و سویه های مختلف اینترفرون ها در کاهش حملات و جلوگیری از پیشرفت بیماری مؤثر تشخیص داده شده است.
ادعاهای گوناگون
به علت اینکه دارویی برای درمان قطعی این بیماری وجود ندارد و به علت ماهیت این بیماری که شامل طیف گسترده ای از علائم می باشد و اغلب شامل یک دوره حمله و سپس بازگشت علائم و بهبودی نسبی میباشد و گسترش روزافزون آن در نقاط مختلف دنیا دستاویز خوبی برای افراد فرصت طلب می باشد از ادعای شفا پیدا کردن با معجون یا محلول های اغلب گیاهی گرفته تا رژیم های غذایی خاص تا یافتن داروهای درمان کننده توسط اشخاص یا شرکت های دارویی. به همین جهت است که افراد مبتلا به این بیماری بایستی با دقت و بررسی کافی در یافتن درمان های جدید اقدام نمایند

یک بعد مهم این بیماری به روحیات فرد بیمار و جنبه روانی این بیماری بازمیگردد که بعد از ابتلا اغلب تغییرات مهمی در آن رخ میدهد که بخشی از این تغییرات مربوط به تخریب برخی میلین های مربوط به این بخش است. قسمت مهمی از روند مقابله با این بیماری هم مربوط به برخی اصلاحات و تغییرات مثبت اخلاقی و رفتاری فرد بیمار است که قطعا باعث بهبود کیفیت زندگی و قرار گرفتن فرد بیمار در شرایط ایده آل در این شرایط میشود.
