مراحل هضم از دیدگاه طب سنتی ایران
هضم های چهارگانه
از دیدگاه طب سنتی ایران 4 مرحله هضم در بدن داریم که شامل هضمهای معدی، کبدی، عروقی و بافتی می‌شود.

1- هضم معدی :
غذایی که خورده می‌شود تا می آید به بافتهای بدن برسد 4 مرحله هضم را پشت سر می‌گذارد. اول غذا وارد دهان می‌شود . در دهان غذا کاملاً جویده می‌شود و با آب دهان مخلوط می‌شود. سپس غذا وارد معده می‌گردد. در معده شیرابه های معده روی آن ریخته و درنهایت به مخلوط خمیری شکل بنام كیلوس تبدیل می‌شود (كیلوس لفظ یونانی است) سپس روده بندها یا مزانتر یا ماساریقا ( لفظ یونانی) این شیرابه را می کشد و به کبد تحویل میدهد. تا این مرحله را هضم معدی یا هضم اول می گویند.( روده بند= مزانتر یا ماساریقا)

2- هضم کبدی :
كبد شیرابه را از طریق روده‌بندها یا مزانتر به درون خودش می‌‌کشد و در آنجا هم یکسری تبدیل و تبادل صورت می گیرد، درحقیقت کبد مثل دیگی است که غذا درونش می پزد و به 4 ماده جداگانه که باهم مخلوط شده‌اند تبدیل می‌شود. بخشی از این مواد رسوب می‌كند كه به آن سودا می‌گویند.

در بالاترین نقطه یك لایه نازك قرار می‌گیرد كه به آن (رغوه) یا كف می‌گویند كه همان صفرا است. بالای سودا لایة شفاف روشن و آب مانند قرار می‌گیرد كه به آن بلغم می‌گویند. زیر صفرا هم یك لایه سرخ گلی تشكیل می‌شود كه به آن خون می‌گویند. زیر صفرا هم یك لایه سرخ گلی تشكیل می‌شود كه به آن خون می‌گویند. این نظر اكثر اطباء قدیم است، البته بعضی اطباء معتقدند كه كیلوس در معده و كیموس در كبد ایجاد می‌شود و كیموس در كبد به خون تبدیل می‌شود. نكته: خون یكبار بعنوان جزیی از مایع درون رگ است یعنی جزیی از آن 4 قسمت است و یكبار خون را بعنوان كل درنظر می‌گیرند كه در فصد و حجامت منظور این است و خون در كبد ساخته می‌شود.

3- هضم عروقی :
در کل مایعات درون رگ تا به بافت برسد تغییر و تحولاتی صورت می‌گیرد که به آن هضم عروقی می گویند.

4- هضم بافتی :
هضم بافتی یعنی زمانیكه تبادل غذا و فضولات بین بافتها و خون انجام می‌شود كه این تبادل در سطح سلولها صورت می‌گیرد.
هر کدام از این مراحل 4 گانه هضم دارای یك سری فضولات هستند، فضولات هضم اول یا هضم معدی مدفوع یا براز است. فضلوات هضم دوم یا هضم كبدی بوسیله ادرار دع می‌شود و فضولات هضم سوم یا هضم عروقی با عرق كردن و ادرار كردن رفع می‌شود و فضولات هضم چهارم یا هضم بافتی از طریق بخارات تنفسی (همان مواد زائدی كه از ریه‌ها بیرون می‌آید) و همینطور چرك بدن كه از روی پوست، دفع می‌شود.

هر کدام از هضوم که باطل شود و فضولاتش دفع نشود شخص دچار بیماری می‌گردد
نكته: بقراط می‌گوید: اگر بیماری به شما مراجعه کرد و بعد از بررسی دیدید نمی‌توانید بفهمید بیماری و مشکلش چیست و دسترسی هم به جایی یا کسی که با آنها مشورت کنید در اینصورت تنها کافی است چهار هضم و چهار دفع این شخص را مرتب كنید آن وقت سلامتی کامل، به شخص برمی‌گردد. اکثر بیماریهایی که برای اشخاص پیدا می‌شود علتش این است که نقیصه‌ای در این چهار هضم یا چهار دفع ایجاد شده است.
