سلامت نیوز: تحقیقات نشان می‌دهد نه تنها خانه مردان مجرد به مراتب نسبت به خانه‌های دیگر آلوده‌تر است، بلكه اتاق فرزندان پسر نیز نسبت به فرزندان دختر میكروب‌های بیشتری دارد. البته تصور نكنید این آلودگی‌ها فقط محدود به جوراب‌های نشسته، یا ظرف‌های كثیف داخل آشپزخانه است.

محققان بعد از مطالعه میزان جرم موجود در كنترل‌ از راه دور تلویزیون، میز غذاخوری، تخت خواب و دستگیره در متوجه شدند میزان آلودگی‌های روی این سطوح در خانه یك مرد مجرد بسیار بیشتر از خانه‌های دیگر است.

حتی میزان باكتری‌های موجود در تخت این مردان تقریبا 15 برابر باكتری‌هایی است كه در تخت خانه‌های دیگر یافت می‌شود. یكی از دلایل این موضوع عادات نادرستی است كه معمولا مردان بیشتر از زنان آنها را دارند. برای مثال بسیاری از مردان هنگام نشستن روی مبل پاهای خود را روی میز می‌گذارند، در حالی كه این یكی از مهم‌ترین عوامل انتقال عوامل بیماری‌زا به سطح میز است.
همچنین مردان معمولا به اندازه زن‌ها به پاك كردن سطح میز بعد از خوردن غذا و مانند آن اهمیت نمی‌دهند كه این موضوع نیز در درازمدت باعث افزایش تعداد عوامل بیماری‌زا در یك خانه می‌شود. معمولا زنان در هنگام پاك كردن سطوح مختلف دقت و حوصله بیشتری به خرج می‌دهند كه همین موضوع سبب می‌شود میزان عوامل بیماری‌زا در خانه به مراتب نسبت به اتاق مردان كمتر باشد. تقریبا كنترل از راه دور در 30 درصد موارد، تخت‌خواب در 62 درصد موارد و دستگیره‌های در 13 درصد موارد در خانه مردان حاوی عوامل بیماری‌زاست.
