گروهی از دانشمندان آمریکایی فضایی از مغز را کشف کرده اند که مسئول کنترل خاطرات دلخراش و دردناک است و می تواند این خاطرات را از ذهن خذف کند.

به گزارش سلامت نیوز دانشمندان دپارتمان روانپزشکی دانشگاه کلورادو در آزمایشی که با استفاده از تصاویر رزونانس مغناطیسی عملکردی انجام شد، از افراد داوطلب خواستند که 40 جفت تصویر را که شامل عکس های دلخراشی از خشونت، تصادف، یک سرباز مجروح و صندلی اعدام الکتریکی بود را به خاطر بسپارند. سپس به این داوطلبان تنها تصاویر چهره ها را نشان دادند و از آنها خواستند که درصورت تمایل به این تصاویر فکر کنند یا فکر نکنند.

این دانشمندان که نتایج تحقیقات خود را در ماهنامه ساینس منتشر کرده اند، با مشاهده فعالیت مغزی این افراد کشف کردند که خاطرات در کورتکس پیشانی مغز کنترل می شود.

همچنین به نظر می رسید که دو منطقه کورتکس بینایی و هیپوکمپوس مسئول مشاهده، ثبت و بازسازی خاطرات غیر احساسی باشند.

در این خصوص این دانشمندان توضیح دادند: "نتایج ما نشان می دهند که حذف خاطرات حداقل در موارد غیر روحی روانی، تحت کنترل مناطق پیشانی مغز هستند. این مناطق توانایی مسدود کردن و حذف برخی از بخش های دلخراش خاطرات را دارند. این مکانیزم می تواند در فرایند تکامل انتخاب شده باشد. "

هنوز علت این فرایند که براساس آن مغز انسان خاطرات دلخراش برای مثال بمباران یا یک حادثه رانندگی را خذف می کند، روشن نشده است. باوجود این، کشف این مکانیزم می تواند به توسعه روش های درمانی و ساخت داروهای جدیدی برای درمان افرادی که از آسیب های روحی رنج می برند، منجر شود.
