آرتروز ستون فقرات یا اسپوندیلوز در حقیقت ...

با افزایش سن ،بمرور میزان آب و محتوای پروتئینی غضروف های بدن كاهش می یابد. این تغییرات موجب ضعیف تر شدن وشكنندگی بیشترمفاصل و سطوح غضروفی خواهد شد ( این تغییرات كه اغلب با افزایش سن پدید می آیند در اصطلاح علمی دژنراسیون نامیده می شوند ) .همانطوریكه می دانید قسمت قابل توجه و مهمی از مهره های ستون فقرات و مفاصل بین مهره ای ( فاست ها ) از غضروف درست شده است و بهمین دلیل با گذشت زمان در معرض تغییرات دژنراتیو ( تغییر محتوای آب و پروتئین و تغییر حالت طبیعی ) می باشند .




این تغییرات همان حالتیست كه به اسم آرتروز ( در اصطلاح عامیانه اش ) نامیده می شود.

دژنراسیون دیسك را در اصطلاح علمی اسپوندیلوزیس می نامند .

رادیوگرافی ساده ، ام ، آر ، آی و سی تی اسكن می توانند اسپوندیلوز مهره ای را بصورت كاهش فاصله بین مهره های مجاور ، و در موارد پیشرفته بشكل تغییر شكل مهره های درگیر و دفورمه شدن آنها نشان دهند . مراحل زودرس و اولیه ی این تغییرلت در ام، آر، آی بشكل تیره رنگ شدن دیسك مبتلا در مقایسه با دیسك های سالم دیده می شوند .

وقتی دیسك بین مهره ای دچار این تغییرات شد استعداد بیشتری برای فتق و بیرون زدگی پیدا می كند.

دژنراسیون دیسك میتواند باعث درد موضعی در محل مبتلا شود و این حالت در هر محلی از ستون فقرات محتمل است . درگیری دیسك های گردن باعث درد گردن خواهند شد ، دژنراسیون دیسك های ناحیه پشت با دردهای جدار قفسه سینه ، و درگیری دیسك های كمری باعث كمر دردهای آزار دهنده خواهند شد . این حالات در همه ی گروه های سنی می توانند دیده شوند اما در سالمندان شایع ترند . فتق بیشتر دیسك و بیرون زدگی قابل توجه تر آن می تواند علائم و مشكلات پیچیده تری را ایجاد كرده و حتی با دردهای انتشاری به دست یا پاها (دردهای سیاتیكی ) و یا علائم حسی ، حركتی مثل ضعف در قدرت عضلانی و گاه بی اختیاری و عدم كنترل بر ادرار و مدفوع و نیز ناتوانی در راه رفتن و لنگش پاها تظاهر كند .
