روزنامه واشنگتن پست نوشت ؛شما برای مهارکردن خطر بیماری های قلبی ممکن است وزن خود را کاهش دهید، سیگار کشیدن را ترک کنید یا چربی و فشار خون خود را کنترل کنید اما محققان دانشگاه کلمبیا با بررسی اطلاعات ده ساله هزار و هفتصد و سی و نه نفر که مشکلات قلبی نداشتند، مشاهده کردند که افرادی که شادتر هستند کمتر از دیگران به بیماری های قلبی دچار می شوند. دکتر کاترینا دیویدسون که این تحقیق را هدایت کرده است، گفت اگر شما به طور معمول فرد شادی نیستید، بهتر است شاد بودن را تمرین کنید چون اینکار به قلب شما کمک می کند. محققان دانشگاه کلمبیا از یک معیار پنج بخشی برای اندازه گیری میزان تاثیر شادی افراد بر سلامت قلب انها استفاده کردند انها سپس نتایج ان را با متغیرهای دیگری چون سن، جنسیت و سیگار کشیدن سنجیدند. تاثیر شاد بودن به گونه ای است که هر درجه شاد بودن بیشتر، بیست ودو درصد خطر مشکلات قلبی را کاهش می دهد در مقابل استرس اغلب موجب ازاد شدن هورمون هایی می شود که می توانند به ماهیچه های قلب اسیب بزنند. استرس همچنین موجب می شود رگ های خونی بیش از حد باز شوند و فضا برای ایجاد پلاک هایی که رگ ها را مسدود می کنند، فراهم می شود.

مصرف داروهای ضد افسردگی می تواند شاخصی از شدت ابتلا به این اختلال روانی باشد که این روزها به یک بیماری شایع روانی به ویژه در بین جوانان تبدیل شده است.

یک بررسی جدید نشان می دهد افسردگی با افزایش خطر بروز سکته مغزی در زنان مرتبط است.
در این بررسی، متخصصان طی یک دوره 6 ساله وضعیت سلامت گروهی از زنان را مورد ارزیابی قرار داده و دریافتند که سابقه ابتلا به افسردگی موجب 29 درصد افزایش درخطر سکته مغزی در این افراد می شود. این آزمایشات همچنین نشان داد زنانی که از داروهای ضد افسردگی به ویژه داروهای مهار کننده باز جذب سروتونین استفاده می کنند، 39 درصد بیشتر با خطر ابتلا به سکته مغزی روبرو هستند.

سرپرست این تیم تحقیقاتی در دانشگاه بوستون در این باره گفت: مصرف داروهای ضد افسردگی می تواند شاخصی از شدت ابتلا به این اختلال روانی باشد که این روزها به یک بیماری شایع روانی به ویژه در بین جوانان تبدیل شده است. وی تصریح کرد: منظوراین نیست که خود داروها موجب سکته می شوند بلکه مصرف این داروها در واقع شدت ابتلا به افسردگی را نشان می دهد که در بروز سکته مغزی موثر است.
