اختصاصی ام.اس لینک - ترجمه از خانم دنیز - ساینس دیلی (24 نوامبر 2010) – طبق یافته های گروه تحقیقاتی ری وی.شی پزشک و استاد علوم اعصاب و مهندسی پزشکی در گروه دانشگاه پوردو از علوم پایه پزشکی :شواهدی وجود دارد که آلاینده های محیطی نقش مهمی در ابتلا به بیماری مولتیپل اسکلروزیس داردکه داروی فشار خون بالا در درمان آن موثر است
طبق یافته ی این محققان : سم آکرولین حدود 60 درصد در بافت نخاع موش مبتلا به یک بیماری شبیه به ام اس بالاتر بود.
نتایج این تحقیقات برای اولین بار شواهد آزمایشگاهی رابطه بین آکرولین و مولتیپل اسکلروزیس را روشن ساخت.
به گفته پروفسور شی:" محققان اخیرا فقط شروع به درک جزئیات آنچه آکرولین در بدن انسان انجام میدهد،نموده اند..و "ما در حال مطالعه اثرات آن بر سیستم اعصاب مرکزی ، هم در تروما وهم در بیماری های دژنراتیو مانند مولتیپل اسکلروزیس هستیم".
ترکیب سم زیست محیطی،در آلاینده های هوا از جمله دود سیگار و اگزوز خودرو یافت می شود.
مطالعات قبلی این تیم تحقیقاتی، دریافته بودکه مرگ عصبی ناشی از آکرولین را می توان با تجویز داروی هیدرالزین ،( داروی تایید شده FDAبرای درمان فشار خون بالا) پیشگیری کرد.
یافته های جدید نشان می دهد که هیدرالزین همچنین شروع بیماری ام اس را در موش ها تاخیر می اندازد و شدت علائم را با خنثی کردن آکرولین کاهش می دهد.
پروفسورشی می گوید:این درمان هیچ عوارض جانبی جدی در موش ایجاد نکرد.
دوز مورد استفاده ما برای هیدرالزین در حیوانات چندین بار پایین تر از دوز استاندارد برای هیدرالزین خوراکی در بیماری اطفال است. بنابراین ، با توجه به اثربخشی هیدرالزین در پایین آوردن سطح آکرولین ، ما انتظار داریم که مطالعه ما منجر به توسعه روش های درمانی جدید حفاظت کننده برای بیماری ام.اس شود و به سرعت به درمانگاه انتقال یابد.

پروفسور شی می گوید:ما فکر می کنیم که آکرولین همان چیزی است که میلین را ازبین می برد ، بنابر این ما می توانیم که اثر آن را مسدود سازیم آنوقت می توانیم شروع بیماری را به تاخیر اندازیم و علائم بیماری را کاهش دهیم.

شی گفت : "ما دریافته ایم که آکرولین ممکن است نقش بسیار مهمی در آسیب رادیکال های آزاد داشته باشد ، به خصوص در مولتیپل اسکلروزیس "
سطح بالای آکرولین در موش مبتلا به ام اس بعد از اینکه با هید رلزین درمان شدند، به نصف کاهش یافت
این دارو نشان دهنده یک پتانسیل دراز مدت درمانی برای آهسته کردن پیشرفت بیماری است.
شی می گوید:اولین بار تحقیق ماست که "نقش نرو توکسینی آکرولین را در ام اس مشخص میسازد و همچنین اولین بار نقش درمانی و حفاظت کننده داروی فشار خون بالا را در آن بیماری نشان می دهد.
. سایر پژوهشگران قبلا زیانهای آکرولین را در سلولهای کبد و کاهش آسیب را با هیدرولزین نشان داده اند وهمان منجرشده تا محققان دانشگاه پوردو به مطالعه اثرات احتمالی آن بر بافت نخاع باشند.
تحقیقات آینده در همین زمینه اقدامات بیشتری انجام خواهد داد ، و گروه تحقیقاتی پروفسور شی تحقیق در مورد ترکیبات پتانسیلی دیگر را در رابطه با آکرولین لازم شمرده است..
تیم تحقیقاتی ، تلاش خود را در آینده با همکاری دانشگاه ایندیانا دانشکده پزشکی ، برای بررسی روشهای تشخیص اندازه گیری سطح آکرولین و راههای درمان در افراد مبتلا به مولتیپل اسکلروزیس بیشتر خواهد کرد.
