پروفسور لیندا واتکینز از دانشگاه کلرادو در بولدرنشان دادند:درمان موفقیت آمیز و برگشت علایم مولتیپل اسکلروزیس یا ام اس ، با استفاده از نوعی داروی درمان دردهای مزمن امکانپذیر می گردد
واتکینز و همکارانش در دپارتمان روانشناسی و علم اعصاب بولدر کشف کردند تزريقی تركيبي موسوم به ATL313 مي‌تواند پيشرفت بيماري ام اس را پس از چند هفته در موش‌هاي فلج متوقف کند.
لیزا لورام، دانشیار پژوهشی که مدیریت این پروژه در آزمایشگاه واتکینز رابعهده دارد ، این یافته ها را در نشست سالانه انجمن علوم اعصاب در سن دیگو در هفته جاری ارائه داد
ام اس نوعی بیماری التهابی است که در آن سیستم ایمنی بدن به غلاف محافظتي ميلين روي رشته‌هاي اعصاب در مغز و نخاع حمله مي‌كند .
با پیشرفت بیماری ، میلین آسیب می بیند که باعث مشکلات دائمی عصبی می شود
واتکینز گفت :داروهای کنونی ام اس فقط پیشرفت آنرا کند می کند اما آن را درمان نمی کند.
وضایعات ایجاد شده همجنان باقی می ماند وبیمار به حالت عادی برنمی گردد.
واتکینز ، لورام وهمکارانشان امیدوارند با استفاده ازتکنولوژی تصویربرداری نخاع و مغز مطالعات خود را برای تعیین اینکه آیا ضایعات در موشهای صحرایی با دریافت تزریق ATL313 منجربه درمان می شود یانه،گسترش دهند.
اگر دارو قادر به درمان ضایعات ناشی از ام اس باشد ،این درمان می تواند تحول عظیمی در موفقیت های درمانی در بهبود علایم ونشانه های ام اس باشد..
این تیم تحقیقی می گوید :ما در اصل می خواستیم این دارو را برای درمان درد ناشی از ام اس ،بکارگیریم چرا که در حدود 70 الی 80 درصد از بیماران ام اس از دردهای مزمنی که قابل درمان نیست رنج می برند.
اوگفت:"آنچه ما در مورد این دسته از ترکیبات فکر می کردیم این بود که سلولهای گلیال در ستون فقرات به دلیل التهابی شدن باعث درد گردیده است.
تحت شرایط عادی تصور می شود سلولهای گلیال عهده دار نظم در سیستم عصبی باشند.
و به گفته واتکینز : اساسا پاک کننده خرده پاره ها و فراهم آوردن سیستم های حمایتی برای نورونها.
کار اخیر واتکینز و دیگران نشان داد که سلولهای گلیال در سیستم عصبی مرکزی نقش کلیدی در بهبود درد های عصبی دارد (با تحریک نورونهایی که سیگنال های درد را انتقال می دهد..)
دارویATL313 با تنظیم مجدد سلولهای گلیال فعال شده از حالت التهابی وآشفته به حالت آرام ضد التهابی برمی گرداند وامکان التیام ضایعات ام اس را فراهم می آورد.

جالبه که تا حالا خبرهای زیادی رو در مورد اینکه داروی درمان بیماریهای دیگه مثل همین نمونه یا داروی فشار خون، بر روی کنترل ام اس تاثیر مثبت دارند دیدیم! حالا ربط اینا چی میتونه باشه خیلی عجیبه!
مثلاً یه جا خوندم داروی آنتی بیوتیک داکسی سایکلین هم اثری مشابه همین داروی ضد درد رو میتونه رو کنترل ام اس داشته باشهHuh
