نتیجه یک تحقیق علمی نشان داده است که انسان، با عاشق شدن، دو دوست نزدیکش را از دست می دهد.

این شاید خبر تازه ای نباشد که هر کس با آغاز یک رابطه عاشقانه، به جز معشوق، وقت زیادی برای دیگران ندارد. اما اکنون دانشمندان در تحقیقی تعداد دوستانی را که از دست می رود، بررسی کرده‌اند.

محققان دانشگاه آکسفورد از مردم درباره دوستان نزدیکشان پرسیده‌اند و اینکه بعد از شروع رابطه عاشقانه تعداد دوستانشان چه تغییری کرده است.

بعد از این بررسی، آنها دیده اند که تعداد دوستان صمیمی افراد، که پیش از عاشق شدن پنج نفر است، با ورود معشوق به زندگی، دو نفر کمتر شده است.

رابین دانبار، پروفسور در رشته مردم شناسی تکاملی در دانشگاه آکسفورد می گوید: "کسانی که یک رابطه عاشقانه دارند، به جای آنکه به طور متوسط پنج دوست نزدیک داشته باشند، تنها چهار دوست دارند."

او می افزاید: "با توجه به اینکه یکی از این چهار نفر هم، همان معشوق است، با این حساب هر کس با عاشق شدن دو نفر را از دست می دهد."

این تحقیق، که همین اواخر برای انتشار آماده شده است، در فستیوال علوم بریتانیا در دانشگاه استون عرضه شد.

گروهی که پروفسور دانبار آنرا هدایت می کند، درباره شبکه های اجتماعی تحقیق می کند و اینکه چطور ما تعداد و ترکیب دوستان در شبکه های اجتماعی را کنترل می کنیم.

پروفسور دانبار، پیشتر نشان داده بود که بیشترین تعداد دوستی که هر کس به طور واقعی می تواند داشته باشد ۱۵۰ نفر است. به عنوان مثال تعداد دوستان افراد در شبکه های اجتماعی مجازی، مثل فیس بوک، بین ۱۲۰ تا ۱۳۰ نفر است.

این عدد برای دوستان صمیمی کمتر می شود و به چهار تا شش نفر می رسد.

این افراد کسانی هستند که در هفته حداقل یک بار با آنها دیدار می کنیم و وقتی که بحرانی شخصی برایمان پیش می آید به سراغ آنها می‌رویم. لایه بعدی کسانی هستند که ماهی یک بار آنها را ملاقات می‌کنیم. این گروه که "گروه همفکر" نامیده می‌شود، شامل کسانی است، که مثلاً مرگ آنها ما را ناراحت و دلتنگ می‌کند.

این گروه محقق در تازه ترین تحقیق خود، روابط اجتماعی ۵۴۰ نفر که سنشان بالای هجده سال بود را بعد از آغاز یک رابطه عاشقانه بررسی کرد.

نتیجه این بررسی تصور عمومی را که عشق باعث کاهش شبکه دوستان نزدیک می شود، تایید کرد. این تحقیق نشان داد که برای جا دادن معشوق در زندگی حداقل یکی از اعضای خانواده و یک دوست باید کنار برود.

تحقیق پروفسور دانبار نشان داد که " عمیق بودن یک رابطه با و درگیری اخساسی فرد دیگر با میزان ارتباطش با او رابطه مستقیم دارد."

آقای دانبار می گوید: " وقتی تعداد دیدارها کم می‌شود، درگیری احساسی نسبت به فرد و رابطه هم به سرعت کاهش پیدا می‌کند. اتفاقی که می افتد این است که توجه شما آنقدر به رابطه با معشوق جلب می‌شود که دیگر فرصتی برای دیدن دوستان صمیمی خود ندارید، و بنابراین بعضی از این دوستی‌ها کمرنگ تر می شود و آن دوستان به حلقه‌های دیگر روابط اجتماعی شما منتقل می‌شوند. "
