[ فعال کردن سلولهای سازنده میلین ]

 همانطور که می دانیم در بیماری ام اس ، تخریب غلاف پوشاننده عصب به نام میلین سبب اختلال در انتقال پیامهای عصبی و آسیب سلولهای عصبی می شوند.
در مغز سلولهایی به نام اولیگودندروسیت وجود دارند که کار آنها ترمیم میلین و ساخت مجدد آن است . در بیماری ام اس این سلولها هر چند در اوایل به ترمیم می پردازند اما چنانچه بیماری کنترل نشود ( منظور دارو مصرف نگردد ) کم‌کم توانایی ترمیم خود را ازدست می دهند این مساله در ام اس پیشرونده بیشتر مصداق دارد و این سلولها از همان ابتدا ترمیم را به درستی انجام نمی دهند.

قبلا گفتیم که محققین توانستند پروتئینی که باعث فعال شدن این سلولها و در نتیجه ترمیم سلولی می شود کشف کنند. اما اینکه چطور می توان به این سلولها پیغام فعال شدن را منتقل کرد همواره جای سوال بوده است.

اخیرا پروژه بزرگی توسط محققین فرانسوی در حال اجراست که هدف آن فعال کردن سلولهای سازنده میلین  یعنی اولیگودندروسیت ها و در نتیجه ترمیم ضایعات ایجاد شده در ام اس توسط خود مغز است .

 در این پروژه آنها توانستند با استفاده از تکنولوژی پیچیده، سلولهای بنیادی تولید کنند که می توانند حامل پیام فعال سازی برای اولیگودندروسیت ها باشند.


به این ترتیب که آنها این سلولهای بنیادی ویژه را در داخل مایع مغزی نخاعی در مدلهای حیوانی تزریق کردند و این سلولها پس از رفتن به داخل مغز حیوان ، سلولهای سازنده میلین را پیدا کرده و آنها را فعال کرده اند .

 این پروژه بزرگ در مدل حیوانی در حال انجام است و قرار است در بیماران مبتلا به ام اس هم این روش به کار برده شود.

 اگر این روش موفقیت آمیز باشد برای اولین بار ترمیم ضایعات مغز و نخاع توسط خود سیستم عصبی صورت می گیرد وبالاخره رویای بهبود ناتوانی در مبتلایان به ام اس به تحقق می پیوندد.
