آزمایش دارویی امیدوار کننده برای ام‌.اس

داروی آزمایشی "ایزتیونیک اسید" می‌تواند پیشرفت بیماری مالتیپل اسکلروزیس (ام.اس) را در موش‌ها آهسته کند.

به گزارش ایسنا و به نقل از پایگاه خبری یو.پی‌.آی، نتایج به دست آمده از این حیث امیدی برای بیماران ام‌.اس است که هنوز درمان‌های قطعی برایشان پیدا نشده است.

سیستم ایمنی سالم دارای سلول‌های B و T است که بدن را برای جلوگیری از عفونت‌ها یاری می‌کند. در بیماران مبتلا به ام‌.اس این سلول‌ها آنتی بادی‌هایی را ایجاد می‌کنند که غلاف میلین را که به دور طناب نخاعی و مغزی پیچیده شده، از بین می‌برند. این آسیب‌دیدگی در توانایی بخش‌هایی از سیستم عصبی که مسئول ارتباط هستند می‌تواند اختلال ایجاد کند و باعث به وجود آمدن علایم و نشانه‌های زیاد جسمی‌شود.

در این پژوهش 50 موش به گونه‌ای پرورش داده شدند تا به ام‌اس مبتلا شوند. به این موش‌ها دوز روزانه‌ای از "ایزتیونیک اسید" خوردنی و دارونما داده شد. سپس سلول‌های B و T موش‌ها شمرده شد. تنها 29 درصد از موش‌هایی که ایزتیونیک اسید مصرف کرده بودند به ام‌.اس مبتلا شدند و این در حالی بود که 56 درصد گروه مصرف‌کننده دارونما به ام‌.اس مبتلا شدند.

محققان بر این باورند که این دارو می‌تواند در پیشگیری از ام‌.اس مؤثر باشد چرا که کاهش 96 درصدی در تجمع خطرناک سلول‌های B که تنها در بیماران ام‌.اس دیده می‌شود، گزارش شد.

به گفته محققان نتایج به دست آمده باید در نمونه‌های انسانی نیز مورد آزمایش قرار بگیرد تا مورد تأیید نهایی قرار بگیرد که در صورت تأیید می‌تواند داروی جدید و امیدوارکننده‌ای محسوب شود.
