مولتیپل اسکلروزیس بیماری اتوایمیون با حمله سیستم ایمنی بدن به سلولهای عصبی خود میباشد که حدود 2.5 میلیون نفر در سرتاسر جهان به این بیماری مبتلا میباشند.
بنابر اظهارات دکتر لادگو کاپوس علی رغم پیشرفتهای زیاد در امر درمان بیماران مبتلا ، بیماران ز[/size]یادی همچنان فعالیت های شدید این بیماری را تجربه میکنند.
بنابراین جامعه بیماران مولتیپل اسکلروزیس همچنان مشتاق درمانهای جدیدتر میباشند. بیوژن در حال حاضر درمانی شناخته شده در بازار به نام تیسابری (تیزابری) را دارد که موثر در کاهش سرعت پیشرفت بیماری و کاهش حالت شعله وری بیماری در بیماران میشود.

همه داروهایی که به ماب یا Mabختم میشن از نوع آنتی بادیهای مونوکلونال هستند مثل تایسبری یا همون ناتالیزوماب و این داروی جدید که هنوز نام تجاری نداره و آزمایشاتش تموم نشده.
