مطالعات محققان دانشگاه مونترال کانادا نشان می دهد که مسدود کردن یک مولکول در سیستم ایمنی بدن، علایم بیماری ام اس را 50 درصد کاهش می دهد.

به گزارش ایرنا از ساینس، این مولکول MCAM نام دارد و به سلول های سفید اجازه می دهد تا از سد خونی مغز عبور کنند و وارد سیستم اعصاب مرکزی شوند که مهمترین عامل آسیب عصبی مشاهده شده در بیماری ام اس است.

مطالعه بر روی نمونه های حیوانی نشان می دهد که مسدود کردن این مولکول، نه تنها حمله های ام اس را به تاخیر می اندازد، بلکه پیشرفت بیماری را تا 50 درصد کاهش می دهد.

مدیر این پروژه تحقیقاتی ادعا می کند که دستاورد علمی او و همکارانش، اولین روش درمان بیماری ام اس است که کیفیت زندگی بیماران را افزایش می دهد و از ناتوانی و پیشرفت بیماری جلوگیری می کند.

مطالعات محققان دانشگاه مونترال کانادا نشان می دهد که مسدود کردن یک مولکول در سیستم ایمنی بدن، علایم بیماری ام اس را 50 درصد کاهش می دهد.
تیمی از دانشمندان به رهبری محققی از بیمارستان زنان و بریگهام نوعی متغیر ژنتیکی را کشف کرده‌اند که فقدان آن در بدن در بروز ام‌اس ایفای نقش می‌کند.
به گزارش خبرنگار کلینیک باشگاه خبرنگاران؛ این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد نوعی ژن به نام SLC9A9 نقش مهمی در تنظیم رشد و فعالیت سلول‌های ایمنی خاص دارد؛ این سلول‌ها به نوبه خود در بروز بیماری‌های التهابی مانند ام‌اس دخیل‌اند.
تعدادی از بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس با وجود از سرگذراندن درمان، کماکان به این بیماری مبتلا هستند و شناسایی زودهنگام کارآمدترین دارو برای فردی خاص می‌تواند به رویکرد درمانی شخصی در درمان ام‌اس بینجامد.
محققان به منظور یافتن نشانگرهای پیش‌بینی‌کننده واکنش یک بیمار به درمان، نوعی بررسی مرتبط با ژنوم را در بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس انجام دادند. این بیماران از بیمارستان زنان و بریگهام، بیمارستان «سان رافائله» میلان و هفت مرکز آکادمیک ام‌اس در فرانسه بودند و به تمامی آن‌ها دارویی به نام اینترفرون بتا داده شده بود.
تیم علمی دریافت مهم‌ترین نشانگر مبنی بر این که آیا بیمار به این دارو واکنش نشان می‌دهد یا خیر، در ژنی به نام SLC9A9 نهفته است.
آزمایش‌های انجام‌شده نشان می‌دهد کمبود این ژن در بدن موجب می‌شود سلول‌های ایمنی، واکنش‌های ایمنی آسیب‌رسان بیشتری را در بدن موجب شوند. دستکاری این ژن در سلول‌های انسان و موش به درک بهتر مکانیسم‌هایی می‌انجامد که در واکنش خودایمنی عامل بروز ام‌اس موثرند.
این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد تغییر ژنتیکی در فرآیند بیماری ام‌اس نقش مهمی دارد اما درک دقیق این فرآیند نیازمند مطالعات بیشتر است. همچنین بررسی‌های دیگری برای ارزیابی این نکته لازم‌اند که آیا اثر این متغیر ژنتیکی به درمان اینترفرون بتا محدود می‌شود یا به درمان‌های بالینی دیگر برای ام‌اس نیز مربوط است.
